SUNSHINE COAST, QUEENSLAND — 30 September 2026 — Sigma Aerospace Group’s Suncoast propeller shop has become an MT-Propeller Authorised Service Centre, expanding the group’s support for Australian operators of MT-Propeller systems.

MT-Propeller issued the facility authorisation to Suncoast Aero Engines Pty Ltd, Caloundra, on 18 September 2026. The appointment follows factory training in Straubing, Germany, and gives operators a local point of contact backed by a direct relationship with the manufacturer.

“Operators want someone here in Australia who understands the propeller and can get the right answers from the manufacturer. The MT appointment gives us that connection, backed by factory training and a clear point of contact at Suncoast.”

Bailey Banks · Sales & Business Development Manager, Sigma Aerospace

Factory training behind the appointment

The two-week September training program covered natural composite blade construction, inspection and repairability assessment, together with propeller disassembly, inspection, assembly, testing and troubleshooting. It included work on the MTV-27 family and MT governor support.

The investment builds the team’s understanding of the complete propeller system, from blade condition through to the hub and control system. Jobs will be assessed against the applicable manufacturer data, the facility’s scope and the tooling and parts needed for the particular model.

Authorised MT support on the Sunshine Coast

The planned MT service offering includes:

  • Propeller inspections and servicing.
  • Overhaul and approved repair work within the confirmed scope.
  • Parts and consumables.
  • Technical support and help planning upcoming maintenance.

Services will be introduced progressively as setup is completed. Operators should contact the team to confirm the model, work required, availability and timing before sending a unit.

Suncoast is listed in MT-Propeller’s worldwide service directory. Operators and maintenance organisations can also access MT’s service documents, manuals and bulletins when planning their requirements.

Local service for operators across Australia

The workshop can support operators well beyond Queensland. The team can coordinate incoming and return freight, review the job records before arrival and keep the operator informed as inspection findings and parts requirements become clear.

The appointment adds to Sigma’s propeller repair and overhaul services and the expanded Sunshine Coast propeller facility. The wider group also provides piston engine overhaul, component repair and aviation parts.

Planning MT-Propeller work?

Send the aircraft and propeller model, serial number, maintenance history, work required and your preferred timing. For an aircraft-on-ground requirement, call Bailey and flag it as AOG so the team can review the urgency and available options.
