Our History
Grounded in Australian Aviation
Sigma Aerospace was founded in 2006 following its acquisition from QantasLink GA, evolving into an independent aviation services provider. In 2014, the company expanded into workforce solutions with the launch of Sigma Workforce Solutions, addressing the industry’s growing demand for skilled engineers. The Tweed Heads Composite Shop was established in 2013, followed by the start of QLINK DHC-8 heavy maintenance operations in 2017.
The company entered aviation training in 2021 with the launch of a CASA Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation, later expanding into Sigma Aerospace College in 2023, providing licencing, RPL, Type Training and engineer training solutions.
In 2022, external investment enabled further expansion, growing the workforce significantly. By 2024, Sigma acquired SunCoast Aero Engines, reinforcing its position as Australia’s leading integrated provider of aircraft maintenance, workforce solutions, and training, now supporting aviation across Australia and the Asia-Pacific with 150+ staff.
